The Dedication of Richard Ginori

Showing the hard work and dedication to maintain the care and passion of producing luxurious porcelain products

Richard Ginori Museum and Factory, Florence – Wednesday, June 1st

The porcelain company of Richard Ginori is a rare and unique one, where they are dedicated to create the most beautifully hand-crafted china in Italy. Their passion for serving the luxurious has never faltered since it was founded in 1737 by Carlo Ginori. Everything they have made in their archive and for sale today are all hand-made, hand-crafted and decorated by artisans in order to be able to deliver the finest details in its precision.

To show the dedication of the company in creating their masterpieces, most of their artisans (~90%) are young designers and artist before they are able to train at their factories. Once selected, these young designers and artists must have a strict training regime of ~10 years before being able to work on the pieces that would be sold to customers. The fact that Richard Ginori is willing to train these to-be employees for such a long time shows that they are passionate and dedicated to set themselves at a much higher standard than their competition.

The patterns that are chosen for these decorative pieces are one of the most important aspects of the company – more so than the shapes of plates or bathroom accessories. Therefore, every brush stroke must be perfect in order to maintain the class and beauty of Ginori products, which require a lot of hand skills to create over 1000 of these pieces. You can look at the pictures below and see the detailing of the decorations. Also pay attention to the little details and shapes of these plates:

When I see these, I think about how passionate and ambitious the company is in preserving its tradition and philosophy since they were founded…

Here are a few quotes from their website to conclude this post:
·         “Ginori lives and breathes art, a fundamental part of our philosophy that shapes the work of all our craftsmen and women. Art is part of our heritage, without it, Richard Ginori would be unable to see the future.”
·         “Design is the spirit of our factory. The force that allows us to innovate. It is about our desire to keep up standards. Richard Ginori is proof that the border between art and design is a fine one.”
